“Grüß Gott”, welcome to Regitnig at beautiful Lake Weissensee

“Where does the name Regitnig come from?”, we are often asked.

It all started with the name: In 1911, our great-great-grandparents Johann & Theresia Regitnig laid the foundation for the Regitnig with their “Villa Therese” on a meadow in Techendorf. Four generations later, the villa has become todays 4* hotel and the holiday complex – expanded many times over. But one thing has remained the same: We still take incredible pleasure in pampering our guests at the Regitnig Hotel & Chalets at Lake Weissensee in Carinthia, and we love chatting and laughing with them.

The Regitnig is a family business – that's why one of us is actually always to be found in the house or in the complex.

 When we sit together, we like to enjoy good food and nice conversations. Yes, we don't need much to be happy, because we live in a beautiful place and do what we love to do: being your hosts!

Your hosts

Irmgard

Born Regitnig. In 1994, she took over her parent’s business and has been running it with lots of know-how, passion, and commitment ever since. Can't be done, doesn't exist with her, and ideally an Excel spreadsheet is created for the planning. Even after so many years, her eyes sparkle when an idea gets turned into reality and guests rave about it. She takes great pleasure in spending time with her grandchildren and taking care of the flowers on the hotel grounds – as it is with mothers. She likes to end her days with a nice chat and a good glass of white wine.

Michael

The oldest of three sons. He has been running the Regitnig with Irmgard. Good wines are his passion – the sommelier diploma was the obvious next step and that’s why you can also find real rarities in our wine cellar. As a balance to the stressful working day, he likes to take his mountain bike for a ride or surprise our guests with a wellness infusion in the lake sauna.

Jasmin

Wife of Michael and mum of David, Marie, and Sophie. She never lacks creative ideas. With lots of love and attention for details, Jasmin creates very special moments for our guests, and her heart leaps with joy when guests tell her why they enjoy their holiday at the Regitnig so very much.

Markus & Thomas

Markus and Thomas, Michael’s brothers, work in two completely different areas of the business. Markus loves the combination of “in front and behind the scenes” – excel files and booking journals on one hand and heartfelt hours with guests at the bar. Being a night owl, you will rarely find him serving breakfast, but we can't imagine the bar in the evening hours without Markus.

Thomas studies in Vienna and, as a student and passionate hunter, is a friend of early mornings. Whenever possible, he provides our kitchen team with tasty game from the Weissensee forests. When Thomas is not hunting, he does small repairs, builds giant swing sets out of wood, mows the lawn, or is an active member in the numerous clubs at Lake Weissensee.
